LAURA'S VOICE IS EXPRESSIVE AND CLEAR.

Frank Piontek, Der Opernfreund

The german Soprano Laura Barthel received her Bachelor's and Master's degree from Salzburg's Mozarteum University under Ildikó Raimondi und Juliane Banse. She graduated in October 2022 with top marks. Since then she is coached by Susanne Eisch. In addition to her classical training she has always pursued her passion for singing musicals and is coached by Marlene Klassen.
Laura has been a dancer since age three. She has trained extensively in Classical ballet, Jazz, Modern and Tap Dance and has taken part in numerous workshops in Bamberg, Munich and Hamburg.

In Season 2023/24 she played the role of Hilde in Henrik Ibsens "Baumeister Solness" at Brentano Theatre Bamberg and Fanny Hensel in "Felix und Fanny auf Reisen" with munich symphony orchestra. As one of only a few singers, she was chosen for the international scholarship holders' concert of the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation Bayreuth and performed Rose's Aria from Kurt Weill's Broadway Opera "Street Scene".

Former engagements took the versatile soprano to the Augsburg State Theatre, the Salzburg State Theatre, the Theatre Fürth and the Children's Theatre Chapeau Claque Bamberg. Laura also sings in Oratorios, including as a soloist with the munich chamber choir Lauschwerk.

She has participated in masterclasses with Sarah Maria Sun, Donatienne Michel-Dansac and Vesselina Kasarova and received scholarships of the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation, the John Cage Organ Foundation Halberstadt and the Künstlerhaus Boswil.

She completed her training in Potential Oriented Vocal Training with Susanne Eisch and worked as a Singing Teacher at various institutes, for example the Otto Friedrich University Bamberg and the Cathedral Singing School Bamberg. Currently she teaches Vocal Technique at "M for Music" Wien.

COACHING

In addition to my work as a soloist, I also work as a singing teacher.

Since 2022, I have been able to accompany both beginners and advanced singers on their individual path to and with their voice. In addition to my vocal studies, I completed a training programme in Potential Oriented Vocal Training with Susanne Eisch in Munich. I am constantly trying to expand my expertise through work shadowing and further training.

My teaching is based on a holistic, functional method that aims to enable a flexible and free-swinging vocal sound. It is important to me to understand the individual as a whole in order to provide the best possible support for their vocal development.

I currently work as a singing teacher at the music schools ‘M for Music’ and ‘Musikschule Kindlein’ in Vienna.

I teach both live (Bamberg and Vienna) and online. Please feel free to contact me!

“Laura is an attentive singing teacher with whom I feel in good hands. Here I can sing in a relaxed atmosphere and get to know my voice. The success, meaning the further development of my voice, was not long in coming. Merci for that!”
