LAURA'S VOICE IS EXPRESSIVE AND CLEAR."

Frank Piontek, Der Opernfreund

German soprano Laura Barthel studied at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Ildikó Raimondi and Juliane Banse and completed her Master's degree in October 2022 with top marks.
Besides classical singing, she has consistently pursued her passion for musical theatre and has been regularly trained in classical ballet, jazz dance, modern and tap dance since she was three years old.

She was selected as one of a few singers for the international scholarship concert of the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation Bayreuth and sang Rose's aria from Kurt Weill's Broadway opera "Street Scene".
Furthermore, she has a close working relationship and friendship with the pianist Beate Roux, with whom she regularly performs recitals and concert programs.

Previous engagements and collaborations have taken the versatile soprano to, among other places, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, the Salzburg Landestheater, the ION music festival and the Jena Philharmonic.

Laura attended masterclasses with Sarah Maria Sun, Donatienne Michel-Dansac and Vesselina Kasarova and was a scholarship recipient of the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation, the John Cage Organ Foundation Halberstadt and the Künstlerhaus Boswil.

She completed her training in Potential Oriented Vocal Training with Susanne Eisch and worked as a lecturer for Vocal Coaching at various institutes, such as the Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg, the Bamberg Cathedral Music and for the Evangelical Church of Bavaria.

COACHING

In addition to my work as a soloist, I also work as a singing teacher.

Since 2022, I have been able to accompany both beginners and advanced singers on their individual path to and with their voice. In addition to my vocal studies, I completed a training programme in Potential Oriented Vocal Training with Susanne Eisch in Munich. I am constantly trying to expand my expertise through work shadowing and further training.

My teaching is based on a holistic, functional method that aims to enable a flexible and free-swinging vocal sound. It is important to me to understand the individual as a whole in order to provide the best possible support for their vocal development.

I currently work as a singing teacher at the music schools ‘M for Music’ and ‘Musikschule Kindlein’ in Vienna.

I teach both live (Bamberg and Vienna) and online. Please feel free to contact me!

“Laura is an attentive singing teacher with whom I feel in good hands. Here I can sing in a relaxed atmosphere and get to know my voice. The success, meaning the further development of my voice, was not long in coming. Merci for that!”
